Der Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) ist eine Bewertungsmethode, mit der der Wert einer Investition auf der Grundlage ihrer zukünftigen Cash Flows geschätzt wird. Die DCF-Analyse versucht, den Wert eines Unternehmens heute anhand von Prognosen zu ermitteln, wie viel Geld es in Zukunft generieren wird. In der Ökonomie ist die Mutltiplikator-Methode ein Prozess, der umfasst:
• Ermittlung vergleichbarer Vermögenswerte (die Vergleichsgruppe) und Ermittlung von Marktwerten für diese Vermögenswerte.
• Umrechnung dieser Marktwerte in Standardwerte relativ zu einer Kennzahl, da die absoluten Preise nicht vergleichbar sind. Durch diesen Standardisierungsprozess entstehen Bewertungsmultiplikatoren.
• Anwenden des Bewertungsmehrfachen auf die Schlüsselstatistik des zu bewertenden Vermögenswerts, um eventuelle Unterschiede zwischen dem Vermögenswert und der Vergleichsgruppe zu berücksichtigen, die sich auf das Mehrfache auswirken könnten.
